Week 5 - Peeky's Sweet Summer Club
The week of the Cupcakes . . .
The week I have been looking forward to the most! So far, our bakers have practiced piping with royal icing and melted chocolate. It was now time to use those skills to learn how to perfectly pipe buttercream on cupcakes. Their goal this week was to focus on technique, keeping steady hands, and squeezing the piping bag with the right amount of pressure. To top it off, they finished their creations with an assortment of toppings.
In their boxes, they received 4 homemade caramel cupcakes, a piping bag filled with vanilla buttercream and a piping tip, sprinkles and marshmallows.
Our bakers really shone this week. Their improvements from week 1 are just incredible!
Our final Baker of the Week is Lillian.
Lillian is one of our youngest bakers in this year's Sweet Summer Club. As you can see (to the left), Lillian took a lot of time, concentration and care when it came to decorating her cupcakes. She not only impressed us, but impressed her whole family with her creations.
I really hope Lillian continues with her love of baking. She will make a brilliant baker when she is older. Her techniques are already superb!😁 Well done Baker Lillian!
Our final week is coming up! Although we are so sad the Summer Club is coming to an end, we are super excited to see our baker's rocky road creations.
