The week of the Cookie Jars . . .
Coming from a creative Week 1, we shook it up a bit for our baker's next challenge. Week 2 was all about following a recipe with precision and accuracy. When it comes to baking, the measurements of each and every ingredient makes a difference and the order you mix the ingredients is very important too. This was a new challenge for our young bakers but as expected they completed this task brilliantly. The bakers received 1 jar filled with margarine and brown sugar, 1 jar filled with flour and smarties and a sheet of greaseproof paper.
Decorating and baking use very different skills and it was great to see our bakers take on this new challenge with confidence and showing an eagerness to learn.
Another week of some very tasty bakes!
Our Baker of the Week is Daisy. Daisy followed the cookie recipe to a tee but chose to go in a different direction when it came to baking her cookies. Instead of making 9 smaller cookies, Daisy made 1 big cookie and 2 smaller ones. As you can see, this made a Mickey Mouse style design. How cool!! (middle photo) We love that even though Week 2 was all about following a recipe, Daisy still managed to put her own touch on her creations. Well done Baker Daisy!
